Try Panofsky, James Boswell. Great topic...lots of "straight" and
wonderfully ironic allusions in literature. These two fellas are a
good start. (Whoops,,, 1st, perhaps Studies in Iconology; 2nd I can't
recall the titles (Anita will know) but a blend of Classical,
CHristianity and Homosexuality.) When the sand has dropped from my eyes
I'll get yu better references.
