When looking for statistics packages, we consulted with the social
science and communications professors here at our university. They
suggested SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The
program is being used to characterize the results of a lengthy and
complex survey conducted of locals museums by our Resource Sharing
Coordinator. She is quite happy with the program and found it very
easy to learn. She is not a computer expert, by any means. I don't
know if they make it for the Mac. We have a Windows version.
