This discussion brings to mind an article that appeared in
Wednesday's _New York Times_ about the Fresh Kills Landfill (which is
on Staten Island) becoming a "tourist attraction". It was on
pages B1 and B2, that is the Metro Section. Those with an interest in
"unusual" sites may find the article to be worth reading. The sanitation
department's assistant commissioner for public affairs is quoted -- "Yes, it's
monothematic, but it is, in it own way, a museum". (p.B1) Mary Mannix
