The Blackstone Hotel on Michigan Avenue is in walking distance to the
Art Institute, Washington Library, Grant Park, etc.  If that doesn't
work, try the Best Western on Ohio Street.  It is a nice walk from the
museums, but you are in an exciting tourist area.  Both have
reasonable rates for Chicago.

If you want a bed & breakfast, then you are going to have to go to the
suburbs and commute by Metra train. Although I wouldn't, too much of a
hassle.
