Notice of forthcoming conference on Museum Collections and
the Information Superhighway.
To be held at the Science Museum, London, UK
May 10th, 1995

The conference will explore the opportunities that museums are beginning to
exploit in the use of the Internet and the World Wide Web as well as other
online resources. It aims to bring the museum community up to date on recent
and possible future developments in this rapidly expanding field.
Sessions will address issues such as:
* The impact of the information revolution on museums
* Virtual museums and remote access to collections
information
* Existing cultural and academic networks
* Funding and strategic issues
There will also be demonstrations of existing resources accessible via the
'Information superhighway'
The conference aims to bring together people from all sectors of the museum

Abstracts of papers to be presented will be posted on MUSEUM-L and CIDOC-L
