Hello Museum-Listers,

Our director forwarded the following information request to me, and I'm
hoping someone is lurking out there who may know who Karen
Llewellyn should contact about these buttons. Please send information

Richard, I am trying to locate information on the date of issue and value
of some Steiff pewter buttons that came in a box labeled Smithsonian
Series. The buttons are stamped on the back with the Smithsonian logo
and "Steiff Pewter." I was told by customer service from the catalog
division that a note to the curator of the AMerican Hsitory Museum might
be helpful.
Since I could find no email address for that museum, your group seemed
the closest. Can you help me, or direct me to a person who could give me
information on these buttons? I thank you for your efforts. Karen
Llewellyn
