The Royal Armouries still has a presence at the Tower of London and important
items connected with the site will continue to be exhibited in the White Tower.
This, however, is undergoing a major redisplay programme at present; only one
floor is open containing a special exhibition of key items.

The new national museum of arms and armour, the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds,
is scheduled to open to the public at the end of March 1996. Anyone visiting
the UK should include it in their schedule, not just to see the magnificent
collections but as an exercise in interpretation.

The Royal Armouries are not currently linked to the Internet but I will be
pleased to forward any urgent e-mail. Otherwise, the addresses are:

Royal Armouries, HM Tower of London, London EC3N 4AB
Telephone: +44 171 480 6358; Fax: +44 171 481 2922

Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds, Yorkshire LS10 1LT
Telephone: +44 113 245 6456; Fax: +44 113 244 4882.
