Hi Craig,

There was a really good seesion at AAM in Seattle on Health Hazards in
museums. It covered such things as the fact that most ethnographic objects
in our collections coming from Africa until the 60's or so were treated
with arsenic to kill anything that might be living in them.  Naturally,
arsenic is bad for us humans - pointing up all the more reason to wear
gloves to protect ourselves from the objects - not just our nasty oily
fingers from the objects.  There was much, much more of interest and real
relevance.

I think the tapes are still available and there was Sourcebook, although I
don't know if papers from that session were included.  Nevertheless, a very
well received session.  Check with AAM to see who the panelists were.
