IMS Plans National Conference for Museum and School Partners
The Institute of Museum Services is planning a national conference for museum
and school partners to be held November 10-12, 1995 in Washington, DC. "Museums
and Schools: Partners for Education" will bring together museums and schools
involved in partnerships to define and share strategies which expand educational
opportunities for our nation's school children. During this three-day
conference, participants will join with experienced practitioners, government
leaders, and visionary thinkers from across the country to discuss and explore
successful models and critical issues related to museum school collaborations.
The conference program is designed to provide extensive opportunity for
information-sharing through roundtable discussions, poster sessions, and
interview panels.
All applicants to the Museum Leadership Initiative program in 1994 or 1995 are
eligible to participate and will be given first priority. All other
participants are encouraged to apply and will be accommodated based on space
availability.
To receive your conference registration materials and participate in this
important national dialogue, please send your name and address to
[log in to unmask] or call Elsa Mezvinsky at 202/606-8536. The deadline for
receipt of registration is October 5, 1995.
