Anna B. Crocker directed the Portland Art Museum in the '20s and during its
construction of a rather innovative new building in the early '30s. It may be
a local myth here in Oregon, but it has often been said that she created some
of the earliest museum public education programs in the country.
Let me know if this lead is useful. I'm on the road right now, but could
provide more detailed info when I return.
