Alpacca is a somewhat outdated name for German Silver plated with silver
 (Roempps Chemie Lexicon).  The Wuerttembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF) was
founded in1880.  They are probably the biggest manufacturer for flatware in
Europe.  Hope this helps.
