The ancient Egyptian god Bes, protector of the hearth and guardian
of women in childbirth and of children, took the form of an
anchondroplastic drawf. Such drawfs have normal torsos and short
arms and legs. Sorry, don't know about his sex drive.
The Cleveland Museum of Art has just acquired an image of Bes--a
small perfume jar made of Egyptian blue, a blend of porcelain and
glass--that includes some of his prouder attributes, cheetah skin
and crown.
Could Bes be related to your folk figure from southern Africa?
