Thought this might be of interest considering that the discussion of
theme parks crops up every once in a while, as well as how to make museum
sites more creatively interactive....

Educators interested in science, design, and interdisciplinary
telecommunications projects will be interested in visiting "Help Build a
Better Theme Park" - a new Web site at:
http://www.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu/~alumni/dlasday/futureplace
Presented in the
form of a Request for Proposal, "Help Build a Better Theme Park" invites
exhibit "designers" to develop exhibit/attraction proposals for
FUTUREPLACE!, a fictitious chain of international theme parks. In reality
"Help Build a Better Theme Park" is an on-line gallery of functional
design by kids for kids and adults. Visitors are encouraged to
participate by submitting designs or design critique that will help
contribute to the best possible future world (Adults welcome also!).
Specific design parameters and guidelines for submission are described on
those pages.
"Help Build a Better Theme Park" features design work and
autobiographies created by students at four New York City public schools;
P.S. 158, Science & Technology, Ralph Bunche School (Manhattan) and P.S.
97 (Queens). "Help Build a Better Theme Park" was developed as a thesis
project by David Lasday, a Master's Candidate at NYU Tisch School of the
Arts Interactive Telecommunications Program.
