For a moment I completely misread the heading on your message as Museums IN
heat !  Now there's a thought for a Museum-L topic.

On the subject of airless vestibules etc, I must express surprise at the lack
of airconditioning in many of the major London Museums especially in back of
house work spaces. Perhaps they are just not used to recurring heatwaves. I
was in that fair city a month ago and the temperature was most unpleasant and
still.
Currently in New Zealand we are sitting by open fires ( not in the museums I
hasten to add) as the last storms of winter pass through.
