I would recommend contacting the Davis Museum and Cultural Center at
Wellesley College. The director is Susan Taylor. They were just
completeing this major new museum when I was at Wellesley, and student
access and use of the facility was a concern. The Davis Museum
publicises all of its programs in standard campus communications, like
the newspaper and flyers in academic buildings and dorms. I think they
also have their own newsletter now. Also, when designing the building
they created study nooks, and reading spots with wonderful views to
encourage students to feel comfortable using the building as a general
study spot.

Another idea: Susan Taylor, the director, taught a museums studies class
which introduced us to the inner workings of a museum. It was a great
experience, and largely responsible for what I am doing with my life
now. I learned to see the campus museum as more than a place to view
required art history works, and to think of it as a dynamic part of
campus life, that partially belonged to me as a Wellesley student.

Hope this helps.
