ECHOES OF ETHNIC MILWAUKEE:
A TREK BACK TO OUR ROOTS
On Saturday, November 18 at 3:00 p.m., the Milwaukee Public Museum and the
Milwaukee Ethnic Council will co-host a discussion which will take
participants on a trip through time to the ethnic roots of Milwaukee.
Former Milwaukee Mayor Frank Zeidler will be joined by local historian and
author, John Gurda, to discuss the cultures - Native American, German,
Irish, Polish, Italian, African-American, Hispanic and others - that
helped make our community what it is today. The discussion will be moderated
by Vel Philips, President of the Milwaukee Ethnic Council.
"Echoes of Ethnic Milwaukeee" will be held in the Owen J. Gromme Lecture
Hall. Attendance at the lecture is free with Museum admission. Please call
(414)-278-2700 for more information on the program, directions to the museum
and parking info.
