I would appreciate it if Museum Professionals or consultant would reply to
this request:
I have been asked to undertake a study of Electronic Learning Centers as
they are beginning to appear around/in museums. I am thinking of the
Micro Gallery of the NGA in Washington - and I am sure there are many
more - some utilizing computers and CMS systems linked together, and some
with some sort of interactive Kiosk devices.
The actual questions I have are: Are the centers staffed? Is the staff
usually part of the Library staff or would docent/volunteers suffice? How
many square feet for workstation is advisable? How simple do the displays
need to be if un-staffed? Is it better to make the learning center the
"first exhibit" the visitor goes to, or should it be off from the main
"beat-and-path"?
I would appreciate any answers, either to this listerv, my email of
[log in to unmask] or phone listed below. Thanks in advance.
