There seems to be some misunderstanding in the following announcement (or
was it a spoof?) posted on 19 August.  (Sorry about the delay but I was
on holiday.).

In fact membership of up to three all ICOM International Committees is
completely free of charge to all members of ICOM itself - you simply
register your membership and pay your dues to your National Committee and
notify the ICOM Secretariat either directly or through your National
Committee which International Committee or Committees you have chosen.

The Statutes and Rules of ICOM  are quite clear: International Committees
are not allowed to charge membership dues, though they are allowed to
charge REASONABLE and NECESSARY fees for attendance at meetings other
than ICOM General Conferences..
