Having read through many (not all; there is the delete button) postings
on this subject, I am compelled to respond. This also relates to labels
on file folders.

Synthetic adhesives hold best when they are well burnished down. No
surprise, this is also the case when natural adhesives are used; cooked
wheat starch paste (and other starches [not flour; too much nutrient for
bugs]), and animal hide glue hold like materials together. For centuries.

If you want to use synthetic adhesives, know that there is a trade-off.
They either stick very, very well, or they fail at the most awkward time.

If the labels must be printed on bits which are stuck onto walls, there
will always be problems (given the available adhesives).

If the information is projected onto the walls, one need only turn the
light off and the label goes away.

Just a thought.
