It's amazing how right those instincts usually are! As marvelous as all
this computerization and technology, nobody should forget that it is all
very ephemeral. These little bits of sparkly light and electronic streams
are surprisingly fragile in the face of such hard realities as power
outages, accidental deletion, and operator malfunction, to name a few. Who
HASN'T lost something to the electronic void one way or another before
backing it up? I suppose it all depends on how serious a potential loss
would be.
