The proposal of greatest interest was one called Humanity 2000, one that
would demonstrate networked digital libraries, museums, archives and
galleries of the G7 countries.  A number of North American organizations,
including CIMI, were involved in varying degrees in the planning and
preparation of a proposal led by the French company Telesystems.  As far as
I can tell that proposal fell apart after a planning meeting in Brussels at
the end of January.
 
The Getty was the only US cultural heritage organization I know of who sent
a representative to the Jan planning meeting.
 
I have background information on Humanity 2000 but it is a very long

Speaking of which, is anyone on the list involved? I read through
todays posts and there was some mention of museums and galleries being
