The Autry Museum of Western Heritage, a major cultural institution located in
Los Angeles, seeks to hire a Development Associate by early January.

Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the Development Associate
will be responsible for assisting with the design and implementation of
fund-raising strategies for individual gifts of cash or property, corporate
sponsorships and contributions, government and foundation grants, estate and
gift planning, and capital fund raising. Also, researching, gathering
appropriate internal and external data, and writing effective grant proposals
to foundations, government funding sources, corporations, and individuals.
Follow up on projects and tasks, as needed, including fulfillment of all
reporting requirements of foundations and other funding sources, as well as
donor recognition programs. Build and track calendar of fund-raising
projects. Generate ideas and conduct programs designed to stimulate
membership and fund-raising efforts.

Skills and Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, show initiative, and work independently with multiple,
changing priorities. A minimum of two years' experience in fund raising or
marketing. Understanding and working knowledge of marketing and public
relations approaches. Demonstrated computer skills, preferably in a Windows
environment. Strong organizational skills.

Salary: Depends on experience and qualifications. Range from upper 20s to low
30s.
