I agree with Susan. Absolutely include all items, whether you can
find them or not. Inevitably, you will find object that have "lost"
their markings and inevitably you will be able to match some of those
objects to the "missing" objects. I would record "missing" for the
location of those that can't be found and "deaccessioned" for those
that have been removed from the collection for whatever reason
(broken beyond repair, etc.). A deaccession record, computerized or
not, will help you figure out why an object was removed when Aunt
Susie comes looking for grandma's teacup.
