Denver recently opened a new airport which cost more than twice the original
estimate. As a result, there are many exhorbitant charges levied upon anyone
who travels to Denver. Many thousands of travelers are now flying to
Colorado Springs, which is about 70 miles (112km) south of Denver, by an
Interstate highway. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive. The
landing fees are much cheaper and the car rental charge is much less.
Airlines are charging more to fly to Denver than to Colorado Springs to
compensate for these high airport fees.

If you can do so at this time, I suggest that you use the Colorado Springs
airport instead of Denver, on your trip. If you compare the prices, I
think you'll find that you will save much money. Also, Colorado Springs is
a very nice place. I lived there for 7 years and I have two sons living there.

Check with your airline. Colorado Springs is serviced by 10 airlines,
including Northwest, which has two or three flights daily from
Minneapolis/St Paul, their hub.

Good Luck
