I am doing a research project on the evaluation of the effectiveness of
interpretation activities in historic sites.
I am interesting in hearing from anyone who has had experience in this
area, specifically with any of the following:
- testing/development/appropriateness of various evaluation tools and
types of evaluation (e.g., questionnaires, formative evaluation,
naturalistic evaluation, etc.) for the evaluation of on-site and outreach
activities at historic sites
- testing the effectiveness of various communication/interpretive media (e.g.,
video, period animation) as they relate to specific audiences in historic
sites
Although my researh is preliminary, I have found that much of the
published literature relates more to museums than to historic sites, and,
although this research may be applicable in some respects, I feel I may
be missing much of the unpublished information done on historic sites. I
am interested in hearing from you if there is research our there you know
about that you feel I should know about.
Please contact me via email.
Thank you very much.
