OTOH, craft/lifeskills demonstrations can be great opportunities for
*inter*acting with the public.
I learned weaving from my parents and grandparents and am about as "folk"
as it gets; I really enjoy 'demonstrating' on our 1787 barn loom with a
succession of 4th graders at my side, passing the shuttle back and forth as
I push the treadles. That involvement is a real hit with school tours, and I
always invite them all back for the weekend, when they could have a longer
turn at the loom.
   ..., ..., I do, and I understand.
