The message below is posted on behalf of the Southeastern Library
     Network and Berry College.

Is your institution prepared for a disaster? Does your staff
know how to salvage water-damaged materials? Attend the Disaster
Recovery Workshop hosted by Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia
     on October 20, 1995.

In the blink of an eye, a disaster can decimate your library's
valuable collections. This Disaster Recovery Workshop will
enable your library staff to minimize the loss of valuable
materials following fire, smoke, or flood damage. Each
participant will receive hands-on experience in air-drying and
packing books, separating and drying manuscripts, rinsing books,
and drying microforms and photographic materials. Julie Arnott,
Manager of Preservation Services at SOLINET, will teach this
     workshop.

Cost for the workshop is $65 ($60 if you register before October
5th). The course will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.
Registration is being handled at Berry College, not at SOLINET.
Contact the Berry College Continuing Education Department at
706-236-2270 for further information and to register for the
     workshop.
