I am outraged at the following and thought I would share it with those
who might be outraged as well:

A longtime lobbyist from the National Woman's Party made her annual
courtesy call to the White House to remind President Clinton that March is
Women's History Month, and to ask him to prepare the usual presidential
statement that kicks the month off.

Since 1982 the President of the United States has recognized women's
history month in this fashion. Yet this year, the official position of the
White House is: "Newt Gingrich has said we may no longer make
announcements of this kind, so the President will not be making any
statement about women's history month." Excuse ME!?

If any of you are as startled by this as I am, please write to, call or
e-mail the White House.

Thank you
