The piece you speak of was produced in 3D animation, and as such, no
physical prototype was ever made or needed.  The motion of the "robot" was
modeled with an actress who had control points physically placed on her to
ascertain proper movement, and that data was used in a 3D modeling system
as points to describe the coordinates of the motion. The surfaces and
lighting are all 3D animation, and as such are synthetic.
