The George Meany Memorial Archives seeks papers and panelists for a
symposium of "Labor and Material Culture," to be held at the Archives
November 12-13, 1995. Papers by labor scholars utilizing such sources as
artifacts, iconography, and folksongs will be complemented by
presentations by archivists, curators, and collectors on sources for
research in material culture, and discussion of collecting strategies.
Prospective participants should send a one-page description of their
paper or presentation and a short resume by June 1 to Stuart Kaufman, The
