The essential difference, as I see it, is that at theme parks the
priority is to have visitors leave happy and comfortable -- pleasant
memories. At a museum the priority is to have the visitor leave
"improved" -- with more complete or adequate information, even if that
means having been challenged for holding "incorrect" information.
A theme park will not put on materials that could make their customer
uncomfortable; a museum might, if it thought the issue was important
enough (and wouldn't jeopardize their standing with relevant social
groups, like big donors)...
