Maybe I can help a little with this problem. Any Office Supply store should
have, or can easily get, the following items:
1-
Reusable plastic putty. (My daughter hangs her posters on the walls of her
dorm with it). It's kneadable and will not leave a stain on your wall. It
works well on cinder block walls as well as smooth. Ask for # FAB-99681 (3
oz.), # FAB-99682 (1 oz.) Eberhard Faber "Hold It", or # BRO-99 (2.48 oz.)
"Plasti-tak". The largest package shouldn't cost more than $ 3.00 or $ 4.00.
2-
Another alternative is a different 3M double stick tape. Try # MMM-136 tape.
This number specifies a roll 1/2" x 250', on it's own dispenser. The tape
is about as thick as "normal" Scotch tape, but adhesive on both sides. If it
works for you, and you need greater lengths, the same tape is available in
commercial rolls, for your desk top or heavy duty dispenser. Your local
stationer will know the longer rolls as # 665 3M tape and can offer greater
widths and lengths to suit your needs. Again, these tapes will either be
stocked by your office supplier or can readily be obtained by him (or her)
through normal wholesale sources.
3- If neither of these tapes does the job for you, I recommend that you call
3M, in Saint Paul, MN. They make other, less common, double stick products
that may do the trick. I can't guarantee it, but I would bet that they have
an "800" line for customer inquiries.
Hope that one of these suggestions solves your problem. It's a sticky
situation. (Sorry, I just couldn't help myself).

PS- If I sound like an advertisement for your local office supplier, it's
only because I've been one for the last 30 years or so.
