Hello-
I read the posting this morning about the listserv finding aid: URL
http://tile.net/listserv/ and tried it out.  I agree, it seems to work
pretty well although it's a *little* bulky, even at 28.8 bps.  To sort by
description involves transferring more than 710,000 bytes and took more
than 5 minutes, after which my computer froze.  Needless to say, I didn't
go back!
There is another finder located at Nova Southeastern University that
might be a little quicker.  The URL is
http://www.nova.edu/Inter-Links/resources.html.  It's searchable by
keyword or exact listerv name if you know it.  I suggest trying it out,
between the two, you ought to be able to find your favorite list.
