I am not sure about ashtrays but there are whole books and collectors
organizations for lighters, and several whole books and published
articles on tin tobacco tags. The only source I know of for these
samll print runs of esoteric books on tobacco related artifacts is a
small one man book service called Antiquarian Tobacciana. It is run
by Ben Rapaport, 11505 Turnbridge Lane, Reston, Virginia 22094. I do
not have phone, fax or e-mail addresses for him even though we have
been writing for 16 years. He has a quarterly newsletter of
available publications for S1.00 and if you buy something you get the
a year of the newsletter for free. He has stuff in English, French,
German, Italian, ect. His section on clay tobacco pipes runs between
10 to 40 titles. I do not mean for this to be a commercial plug but
if anybody can find you information on ashtrays, Ben can!
