Chuck,
One of the leading authorities on Navajo rugs and their conservation is
Marian Rodee at the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, University of New
Mexico, Albuquerque, NM 87131. She is very gracious and has written
several books on Navajo weaving and is tremendously knowledgeable about how
to store and display them. You might also write to the Museum of Navajo
Ceremonial Art (the Wheelwright) in Santa Fe, NM, the Museum of Northern
Arizona in Flagstaff, and the Arizona State Museum at the Ubiversity of
Arizona in Tucson. That covers about 95% of the grat collections. (oops,
almost forgot the Herd Museum in Phoenix, AZ).
