I am posting this for a patron and thought she could use the expertise
of museum-l.
I have practiced environmental law for the past 10 years, been an active
volunteer in a museum, the Vice President on the Board of Trustees of a
museum, a nd had experience in grant-writing. I would like to change
career paths, and ultimately become a museum administrator. Hopefully
attaining the position of a museum director or assistant director. I am
presently looking into graduate museum studies programs in the NY/NJ
area, and would like information/advice about the best career
path/studies programs. Should I get a Master's or certificate in museum
studies? Or museum management? Or another field. Any advice would be
most appreciated. Thanks. Deirdre.
