ASSISTANT CURATOR OF MAMMALOGY & ORNITHOLOGY
The Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature is seeking an experienced
individual for the half-time 2-year postition of Assistant Curator of
Mammalogy & Ornithology. The successful candidate will report to the
Chief Curator of Natural History and will be responsible for the
acquisition, documentation and maintenance of collections within the
areas of specialty. The successful candidate will also have some
responsibilty for research, collection of artifacts and specimens,
preparation of storyline and label copy for exhibitions. This individual
will serve the Museum and the public as the primary knowledge resource in
the areas of specialty.
Applicants must have:
- a Master's degree in the field of mammalogy or ornithology,
and some training in the other field, or
- a Bachelor's degree in either area of specialty with 10
years experience in one of the areas, or
- an equivalent combination of education and experience
Term Begins: March 1, 1995
Term Ends: March 31, 1997
Salary: $13,500 (annual half-time salary)
