According to my dictionary, Henry Grunder is wrong about gerunds. A
gerund is a verbal noun ending in "-ing," a noun based on a verb, not
vice-versa. If we had "bequeath" but no word "bequest," we might call it
"a bequeathing." THAT would be a gerund. BTW, I almost wrote "Gerunder,"
not "Grunder!"
