TITLE Education Project Specialist, Audioguide Project;
grade E08; three year limited term position
DUTIES Reporting to the Manager, Educational Resources,
this position is responsible for the development and
implementation of the Museum's random access audioguide;
acts as project team leader, develops plans and schedules
and project budgets, negotiates contracts, oversees staff and
consultants; works as part of a group defining the functions
and parameters of the new system; oversees development
and testing of program components and conducts and
evaluates pilot programs; supervises the development of
program content, text, and images; provides knowledge of
audience-based educational delivery systems.
QUALIFICATIONS Graduate degree in art education, art
history, or museum education, with coursework in and/or
experience with technology based educational delivery
systems; 5-7 years experience managing technology-based
or other educational delivery projects; skills in working on
collaborative projects and in supervision and communication
essential.
BEGINNING SALARY Commensurate with experience;
salary begins at $34,500

TITLE Education Project Specialist, Information Centers;
grade E08; three year limited position
DUTIES Reporting to the Manager, Educational Resources,
this position is responsible for the development and
implementation of the Museum's Information Centers; acts
as project team leader, develops plans and schedules and
project budgets, negotiates contracts, oversees staff and
consultants; oversees or coordinates decisions regarding the
design and use of space, in consultation with education,
curatorial, exhibitions, and other staff, ensuring that the
Centers employ varied approaches to accomodate a wide
range of learning modes and visitor needs. Coordinates the
development or acquisition and installation of displays,
materials, and equipment; develops and recommends plans
for staffing and maintenance of the Information Centers,
provides input on the development and implementation of the
Family Resource Center. Oversees testing and evaluation of
projects and process of implementing changes.
QUALIFICATIONS Graduate degree in art education, art
history, or museum education, with coursework and/or
experience with exhibitions; 5-7 years experience managing

TITLE Manager, Educational Resources
DUTIES We are seeking a Manager of Educational
Resources to create and oversee the newly formed division of
our Education Department devoted to the use of technology,
didactic installations, written materials, and other resources
in support of the Museum's educational mission. Reporting
to the Head of Education and frequently working in
conjunction with Information Services, curatorial staff, and
outside contractors, the position has responsibility for
exploring appropriate resources to enhance the experience of
the wide range of museum visitors, for oversight of the
Museum's information centers, and for the slide library and
resource room, and for collaborating with the programmatic
education staff on a wide variety of interpretive material for
the new facility scheduled to open in West Los Angeles in
1997. This position is one of three senior departmental staff
members.
QUALIFICATIONS Requires an M.A. in a related field, and
5-7 years of experience in the design and development of
non-traditional teaching approaches including
technology-based delivery systems. Significant project
management experience, preferably in a museum setting and
staff supervisory experience required.
