Alan,
I can't speak from any direct experience, but I know a bookstore in our
area that caters to the university community has had great success with
e-mail more than the Web. I gather that people visit their Web site,
but no one has yet used their order form. What they stress more than
anything is to have e-mail. It has worked wonders for them on an
*international* basis. Not bad for a small (but terrific) bookstore
in State College, PA!
