Attention all Museum Macintosh Muck-a-mucks
The QuickCam from Connectix ($99 from any warehouse) is a digital camera
that captures 240x320 pixel 4-bit grayscale images, in PICT format or as
Quicktime movies. Zowie!!!!! No digital - to - analog - to - digital
conversion. Plugs into a serial port and here's looking at you. A window on
the monitor functions as a viewfinder. Watch yourself at work, or take
snapshots of your project. 50k files, useful for rough sketches. Also
serves as a crude scanner. If I had a Web page I'd show you a picture of me
drinking a Blue. Or the iceaxe used on the first ascent of Mount Robson.

Disclaimer--I have no connection with Apple Computer (they did once send me
a sweatshirt, but they usually don't even respond to my mail) or Connectix
(makers of the astounding RAM Doubler).
