Museum-L: One of our members has available for donation to a worthy
museum a machine designed to grow silicon crystals for subsequent
slicing into wafers for computer chips, to wit:

A large machine, of Texas Instruments design, known as a "Chamber
Lopex Model 2" Silicon Float-zone Crystal Grower. It was used, until
about five years ago, to grow crystal rods about 1" in diameter of
very pure silicon. (Its capacity could go up to perhaps 2" dia.)

It is BIG and HEAVY. Specifically, about 10' high with a 4' x 6' foot
print, and an accompanying RF power generator about 7' high with a 3'
x 6' footprint. Power required to operate... <<50kw of 440VAC 3ph.

This fun rascal is available at no cost to a worthy Museum. Offeror
may help load it onto your truck (capable of hauling several tons)

If you have a serious inquiry, I'm prepared to pass it along to the
machine's owner.

Walter
