Trish (via Tim), at the recent meeting of the Society for the Preservation
of Natural History Collections a two day workshop on _Managing the Modern
Herbarium_ was presented. It included a talk by George F. Russell of the
Department of Botany, Smithsonian Institution on Bar-coding. He could
answer many, if not all, of your questions.
