Dear friends,
I am requesting information on behalf of Prof. Lydia Gasman of the Art
Department at the University of Virginia. You may reply directly to me at
[log in to unmask] Thanks so much for your help!
Seeking information regarding Picasso's "Still Life with Black Bull's Head,"
painted in Paris or Le Tremblay-sur-Mauldre on 19 November 1938; oil on
canvas; 97 X 130 cm. Zerros oeuvre catalogue, vol. IX:240. Most recent
reproduction in b/w is in Jean Sutherland Boggs, "Picasso and Things," exh.
catalogue 1992, p. 254 fig. 100a (titled "Black Bull, Book, Palette, and
Candle."
The work is currently held in a private collection in Japan: can anyone tell
Prof. Gasman the name of the collection and town in which it is to be found,
or alternately a source for contacting the owner of the work?
Thanks again --
