Good morning:
We had someone approach us wanting to donate room keys to a once-prominent and now closed hotel in our city. His father accidentally took them home with him in the 1950s or 60s and they never got returned. The hotel has been gone since the 80s and the entity that operated it has long since folded. The building now houses apartments and is owned by a local property developer. The question I have is, since these keys were technically "stolen" from the original owner, does the potential donor actually have the ability to sign ownership over to us?
Thanks!
