Judith--
I am responding to your request on the list, since there may
be others out there who are interested in resources
available.
There are several museum education networks:
EdCom (The Education Committee of the American Association
of Museums). Contact:
David Stark, Curator of Education
Rhode Island School of Design
Museum of Art
224 Benefit Street
Providence, RI 02903
(401)454-6530
MER (Museum Education Roundtable)
3000 Connecticut Ave., NW, Suite 237D
Washington, DC 20008
(202)232-6084
MER produces programs and the Journal of Museum Education.
There may also be also be a network of museum educators in
your area (we have one in northern California/San Francisco
Bay Area). Check with the education departments in other
Providence museums. If there isn't one, you may want to
form one!
Contact your local high school and find out if the science
teachers can tell you who to contact for the state science
teachers association.
These are just a few suggestions for getting started. Good
luck!
