I am putting together a session, entitled "Curators Crossing the Boundaries"
for the Midwest Museum Conference, to be held in Cincinnati on
September 19-23, 1995. This session will focus on exhibitions in which
curators have attempted to incorporate educational theories into
the exhibition itself. The topic is timely, as the most recent issue
of the AAM's Excellence and Equity newsletter focuses on the
dichotomy that has traditionally existed between curators and educators.
I am interested in finding two curators in the midwest region who have
crossed institutional and/or cultural boundaries to present works in
new ways, and who have incorporated educational theories into their
thinking about the exhibition.
If you are interested in discussing your exhibition on a panel
for a session at the MMC conference, please contact
