I'd recommend "Consolidation of archaeological bone: a conservation
perspective" by Jessica S. Johnson, published in the *Journal of Field
Archaeology*, v. 21, 1994, pp. 221-233, as another key reference on the
subject of appropriate adhesives and consolidants for archaeological bone
and other mineralized tissues. Jessie's on the site in Gordion, Turkey,
right now, but should be back in August for direct questions. She's a
pro and a Professional Associate of AIC. We did a modified version of this
paper at the annual program of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology
last year, too.
