In Lorax fashion I will speak for the trees! If large trees are adjacent to the construction zone you need to protect their roots and soil from getting compacted. We have large oaks at my museum and made sure we had protective areas around them during building.
Wow, I hope you are also working on how to involve the occupants of the new construction into your programs! Lot of potential there, have fun.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Planning for nearby construction
Good Morning All,
I apologize if this has come up before on the list, but I'm looking for any suggestions the Museum L collective might have regarding questions to ask a developer who will in all likelihood be building a 20 story mixed use building next to our museum. The developers have agreed to meet with us to talk about our concerns and I have a preliminary list regarding our outdoor sculptures and possible vibration concerns for the collections. However, I want to make sure I'm not over looking other angles so any insight or past experiences you would be willing to share would be appreciated. Feel free to contact me on or off list. Thank you in advance!
