Also in the Los Angeles area, the City of Pasadena has a similar
effort underway through terminals at it's public library branches
and other locations, providing access to an online library catalog
covering the collections in the Pasadena library and those in the
public library system in the adjoining city of Glendale. This PALS
system is also accessible through a local computer network known
as PARIS. Individuals and businesses may subscribe to PARIS for a
relatively low annual fee. PARIS terminals are also located in the
central and branch libraries.

The system serves as a sort of community bulletin board, calendar
and clearing house. It also gives access to a number of databases
containing information of (primarily) local interest. The Pasadena
Public Library should be able to provide more complete and
accurate information on both systems.
